edge Urban Design now have a full house of Recognised Practitioners in Urban Design!

We are delighted to announce that Sarah has been awarded her Recognised Practitioner in Urban Design accreditation from the Urban Design Group. She has been able to demonstrate that her high level of skills and experience as an Urban Designer make a difference to the built environment. Her passion for promoting urban design across the disciplines is trying to ensure that all built environment professionals work to a common goal of better placemaking.

The Recognised Practitioner accreditation scheme was launched in 2011 with the vision to give those working in urban design a sense of identity; greater influence on professional practice and public policy; and a stronger sense of common purpose. In order to deliver enthusiasm and a fresh focus on better placemaking, Recognised Practitioners are seen to be professionals with a wide range of skills and experience of designing in an urban context. Sarah and Hannah, the all lady dream team at edge, are now both in possession of this accreditation and are therefore well versed to continue making their mark in the world of Urban Design and Masterplanning.

With the shocking statistic that a high proportion of all planning application in the UK are being prepared by someone with no design training, it is no wonder that a great deal of development is still badly designed. At edge we will not stand for this and are advocates for the importance of good design and creating a legacy for the future.

We are the new generation of activists – delivering the next stage in the history of the urban design movement!
