Chaity: my life on the edge!

During my first year at edge I have realised how much I enjoy being pushed out of my comfort zone. Starting in a new role can feel daunting, but I’ve learnt that I’m able to adapt quickly and pick things up as I go. I have also found that asking questions and learning from the people around me makes a huge difference, and it’s something that’s really helped me build confidence over the year.

Life at edge is busy but in a positive way. There’s always something new to learn and you’re given the chance to get involved in meaningful work quite early on. What really stands out is how supportive everyone is; people are always happy to help or share their experience, which makes it a great place to learn as a graduate.

What attracted me most to the edge graduate scheme was the focus on development and the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience early on in my career. It felt like a place where graduates would genuinely be supported and given responsibility, rather than just observing form the sidelines. The culture also very people-focused, which really stood out to me.

My first impression at the open day was how friendly and welcoming everyone was. The open day felt really open and honest, and it was great hearing directly from people already working at edge about their experiences. It gave me a much clearer picture of the company and made me feel confident that it would be a supportive place to start my career.

To anyone applying this year – I would say just be yourself and show your enthusiasm. Don’t worry about trying to give the “perfect” answer, it’s more important to show your interest in learning and developing. Also, take the chance to ask questions, as it helps you get a better feel for the company and shows that you’re genuinely engaged.
