Celebrating a 1 Year edge-iversary!
We‘re kicking off 2025 with another edge milestone! Not only is January Niamh’s Birthday month, but it also marks 1 whole year since she joined the team! So we quizzed her about her time with us so far, and how she’s adapted to living life on the edge!
How have you found adapting to living life on the edge?
Adapting is easy when you have such an accommodating team like edge. It didn’t take long to feel like a part of the team, and I have learned so much over the past year. I have been challenged creatively, encouraged in my passions, and expanded my knowledge of all things placemaking. I’m loving living life on the edge!
What do you most enjoy about edge life?
The people and the work environment. The edge team are genuinely kind and supportive of each other; they are so enjoyable to work with—it’s what makes my job so fun! I love how committed edge is to growth and employee wellbeing. They really get us involved in making edge a great place to work and value our opinions. It feels so great to feel like a valued and respected member of the team and business.
What’s been your proudest moment?
In September, I was a part of the ‘Made for Me’ team that won overall winner at NLA’s Reimagine London ideas competition. We really didn’t expect to win, and it was the proudest moment of my career. Our idea – interconnected accessibility hubs – has ignited my passion for inclusive design, and I’m excited to explore this more in the future. As a disabled person, seeing inclusive design recognised on this scale was an incredible feeling, and I am so proud to raise awareness of this important topic.
What have the next few months got in store?
This year, I hope to work towards becoming a Recognised Practitioner in Urban Design, expand my knowledge on inclusive design, and make some waves in the industry with the Made for Me team!
I am so proud to be a part of the edge team, here’s to many more years to come!
