Celebrating a 4 Year edge-iversary!
This month we’re celebrating another edge milestone! September marks 4 years since Sophie joined the team, so we caught up with her to talk about what living life on the edge means to her …and how her role has changed since those early 2020 days!
How have you found adapting to living life on the edge?
It’s been an interesting 4 years! My role has massively evolved since I first joined the team, which has been an experience in itself. It’s very rare to have a job role that moulds to you and your strengths rather than you fitting into something generic, so we’ve sort of been adapting to each other as the business grows! No two days are the same though which is always a lovely thing to be able to say.
What do you most enjoy about edge life?
One of the best things about edge is that you can be yourself and its celebrated. I love to be behind the scenes working in the background and edge have created an environment where I can do just that. Everyone has a different approach when it comes to how they work and edge take the time to understand and appreciate this mix in styles, to get the best out of everyone.
What’s been your proudest moment?
It’s hard to pinpoint one thing. Anna summed it up perfectly in her 2 year review – we do so many weird and wonderful things at edge so it’s sometimes easy to forget all of the amazing things we’ve worked on! But I’m very proud of the edge brand. We don’t always do things in the traditional way and very much follow our own path which can sometimes feel risky, but we’ve received so much lovely feedback over the years which always makes me happy, as I always want to create things that spark joy in everyone, not just those directly involved in what we do day-to-day.
What have the next few months got in store?
The next few months will be all about bringing some personality to our office space. We’ve recently moved into a lovely, bright new office with more room which we’re trying really hard not to get too carried away with! We’d like it to be an extension of us, where we can get creative and surround ourselves with things that keep us motivated. There’s nothing worse than a minimal/plain environment when your job requires a certain element of creativity so we’re on a mission to find a balance that works for everyone!
