Celebrating a 2 Year edge-iversary!
This month we celebrate Anna’s 2 year edge-iversary (any excuse for some cake!) so we caught up with her to reflect on her time at edge so far…
How have you found adapting to living life on the edge?
To be able to say the two years have whizzed by surely shows it didn’t take long to settle in to the edge way of life. The team are a fun and inspiring bunch to work with, and Hannah and Sarah have given me a platform from which I’ve been able to run with ideas to help shape and grow the business together.
What has been your proudest achievement?
Can I have two? (there are lots more!) The first that springs to mind is project related, recently submitting plans for a new residential-led mixed use neighbourhood in Bristol. I am so proud of the team for developing a really strong concept and masterplan, working collaboratively with a fantastic client and consultant team and taking part in my first Design Review as part of the consultation and engagement process. It’s been an exciting journey, looking forward to the next steps!
The second is developing our refreshed professional development programme with Hannah, Sarah and Sophie, to help nurture talent and support the team’s career aspirations. Our people are our strongest asset and it’s been exciting to see how well the new annual review process is helping to more clearly lay paths for success and growth at edge! As a small and relatively new business we are constantly evolving and improving our processes and I have loved being a part of this.
What’s your favourite edge activity?
We get involved in all sorts of weird and wonderful things at edge…it’s been lovely to get stuck in to transforming our new office space, from carrying 10 giant desks up a winding stair case on moving day; to having a laugh with the team painting walls earlier this week at our painting party. It’s shaping up to being a fantastic, unique and creative place to work and have fun!
What are you looking forward to in the coming months?
Well…in the short term I’m looking forward to a much-needed holiday with the family…! But after that, feeling refreshed, I am really looking forward to getting stuck in to some exciting projects in the last quarter of the year, celebrating the team’s achievements on our 6th Birthday and I’m sure more weird and wonderful team activities and adventures to come…thank you edge for a great two years!
