When we think about placemaking, we think about th When we think about placemaking, we think about the process of shaping the environments where people live, work and connect. But long before a new neighbourhood, town centre or regeneration scheme is complete, it exists first as an idea that must be communicated, trusted and embraced. Visual storytelling plays a vital role in this process and is one of the most important tools we use to create a successful place. Head to our website (via our bio or stories!) where Natalie, our Graphic Design Lead, has shared more about why visual storytelling matters in placemaking, and how it can be used to turn an abstract vision into something tangible that people can relate to 💖

Welcome to Brampton, an outline application for 26 Welcome to Brampton, an outline application for 26 new homes in the county of Cambridgeshire, designed by Greta Leonaviciene on behalf of our client R2 Developments.

This thoughtfully designed development is small but mighty, delivering up to 26 high-quality new homes (40% of which will be affordable), and increasing the local housing choice in the Huntingdonshire District with a range of dwelling types, sizes, and tenures.

Located on the southern fringe of Brampton village, the development is complemented by a variety of public open spaces, including a community orchard, recreational and play areas and a landscaped buffer along the north-western edge. This buffer will provide important visual separation between the development and the local landmark building: Pepys House, the 16th century, Grade 1 listed property thought to be the only surviving home of Samuel Pepys and his family.

The concept aims to create a strong framework of connected and well-overlooked streets and spaces with the use of carefully considered building lines and dual aspect corners. Varied densities, pattern and form will create a range of memorable spaces for improved wayfinding, while low-speed, pedestrian and cycle-friendly streets with connections to existing routes will provide high active travel permeability.

The proposals will maintain, protect and enhance the character and quality of the Site’s green infrastructure through the retention of existing landscape features, such as hedgerows, trees and structural vegetation. Sensitive and considered landscaping throughout promotes biodiversity by providing wildlife with connected habitats to live and thrive.

The Site presents an exciting opportunity to create a new legacy development in the Huntingdonshire District, supporting the sensitive growth of the area as well as creating a new and improved gateway into the village from the northeast.

This week is National Tree Week 2025, and yesterda This week is National Tree Week 2025, and yesterday on the most beautiful frosty morning, team Thame had the pleasure of supporting local Cuttle Brook Nature Reserve volunteers plant a new hedge. Despite the cold, we used strength, determination and lots of laughter to dig in a mix of 1600 hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, field maple, dog rose and guelder rose plants. Our new hedge in the Southern Meadow will protect the wetland scrape, which has been designed to flood and recede to attract new wetland habitat species. We are so proud of our saplings and can't wait to see them grow! 🌱

Big thank you to the Trust for Oxfordshire's Environment, who provided our saplings and equipment!
